Take the sample according to UNI EN 21513. Unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer, dilute the sample with 25 to 100 parts by weight of drinking water. Apply it on the plastic panel in a single pass through the stretch film. Let the sample dry for at least seven days in a air-conditioned environment, according to UNI EN 23270. Before the test, measure the thickness of the dry film, by the method described in ISO 2808.

Immerse the appliance washing brush in the cleaning solution and let it for one night. Shake vigorously to remove excess solution and subsequently, put it in the instrument device.

Fix the sample in the machine's bowl, so that the brush slides parallel to the longer side. Wet the sample surface, pour in 5 +/- 0.5 cm3 of the cleaning solution. Open the valve of the container, so that the detergent solution dripping on the sample, at a rate of 1 +/- 0.25 ml/min. Reset the counter and start the washing machine.

Stop the washing machine, when the support is put into the open area of sample, that extends for 5 cm to the left and to the right of the minor axis center of the sample itself. Read on the meter the number of cycles performed. Continue the test for a number of cycles equal to 10% of what is already available, in order to ascertain that the carrier has discovered for accidental causes or to an irregularity of the applied film. Accidental detachment, the test must be repeated. Express the resistance to washing of mural painting in the number of wash cycles completed by the brush, and detected by the counter of the instrument, when in the area to consider the support is visible.

Carry out two determinations and the results mean. If the difference between the two results is greater than 25% of the minimum value, it is necessary to perform a third measurement on another sample of the same product and make the mean with the previous result obtained, which differs by less than 25% of the lesser of the two.

Test of wear resistance caused by rubbing brushes let slide on the sample surface. The test may be performed in wet thanks to the washing liquid (water or detergent) which are pumped to the brush heads from a removable container. The pump can be switched on or off during the test. The rub resistance evaluation is performed by calculating the weight loss after at least 200 cycles.
