Apply a uniform coating of the material to be tested on a rigid panel. Samples must be disc-shape, 100 mm diameter, or square plate shape, 100 mm, with rounded angles and with 6.3 mm center hole on each panel. Prepare two covered panels for the material. Set the abrasive selected wheels on the respective blocks with flange, taking care not to ruin their abrasive surfaces. Adjust the load on the wheels. Set the coating surface support (S-11 abrasive disc) on the device. Carefully lower the abrasive heads until the wheels are resting squarely on the abrasive disc. Place the suction nozzle into position and adjusted to a distance of between 1 mm/4 mm, above the abrasive disc. Set the counter to "zero" and set the intake regulator of about 50 points on the dial. The setting can be increased to 90 if it appears necessary in the most effective removal of abrasive material. Start the vacuum pick-up and then the abrasion device. Resurface the wheels performing 50 cycles of abrasion against the hard makeover. The wheels need to be resurfaced in this manner before testing each sample and after every 500 cycles. Before the test, it is necessary to air-condition the coated panel for at least 24 hours at 23 +/- 2°C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Take the test in the same environment or immediately on removal therefrom. Weigh the sample to the nearest 0.1 mg and record this weight, is the wear or weight loss index must be registered. Measure the thickness of the specimen coated in different places along the route where abrasion occurs. Mount the specimen on the turntable. Place the abrasive heads on the test film and the suction nozzle in position. Set the counter and adjust the intake. Start the vacuum pick-up and then the abrasive turntable. Subjecting the test sample to abrasion for a number of cycles or until the wear of the coating. In determining the wear point, stop the instrument to the examination of the sample intervals. Remove any abrasive elements dissolved remained on the test tube by brushing and weigh the specimen. Repeat the test on at least one additional sample of the material under test.

Abrasion test by rubbing two rollers provided with sandpaper on the rotating surfaces of circular samples of diameter 100 mm. The measurement of the weight loss of the samples after a predetermined number of cycles is used as a wear index suffered.
